Teledermatology

Learn More About Teledermatology

Dear Patients and Friends,

Marmur Medical hopes you are staying safe and would like to keep everyone safe by offering Teledermatology services to patients.

Our new Teledermatology services will allow patients to continue their care with the physicians they know and trust while staying safe in the comfort of their own home.

We are seeing patients both virtually and have modified hours for in-office visits. Please call the office directly (212-996-6900) to arrange these consults with your health care provider or you can send your virtual appointment request to telederm@marmurmedical.com

We urge patients who are experiencing respiratory symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, body aches, extreme fatigue), traveled outside of the United States within the last 30 days, or have had direct contact with anyone who is sick, please be tested for COVID-19 and please do not come into the office.

See below for more information regarding our Teledermatology services.

FAQs

Teledermatology is defined as the utilization of the internet to care for our patients’ health concerns, which has already proved to be extremely useful during this unprecedented time in medicine and history. Modern technology has facilitated this method of healthcare and is implemented through the use of HIPAA-compliant tools. Teledermatogy at Marmur Medical is intended for the use of refilling prescriptions, checking a new spot or a rash, and managing rosacea or acne. Teledermatology will not serve as a replacement for a total body check, surgical procedure, medical procedure, or cosmetic procedure.

Most major insurance companies have increased their telemedicine coverage. All virtual visits will be submitted to the patient’s insurance carrier. If your insurance carrier does not cover the visit, patients will be responsible for an $110.00 non-refundable fee. For that reason we require a valid credit card to be kept on file for all Teledermatology appointments.

Yes, co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles do apply to telemedicine visit depending on your carrier.

Please call our office at (212)996-6900 to schedule a Teledermatology visit or email Telederm@marmurmedical.com. We are asking that you write your doctor’s name and concern in the subject line. Ex: “Marmur – Rash on arm.” Please include as many details as possible and send clear, well-lit photos so that we can upload them to your chart.

The appointments are 20 minutes long.

If you would like to have a cosmetic consultation with any of our doctors, the fee is $300 and will be applied to your treatment – just as if the consultation was done in office! However, we are obviously extending the 2-week treatment window which is normally the duration when patients are eligible to apply their $300 fee given the COVID-19 situation.
