What is Thermage FLX?

Thermage FLX is a non-invasive, radiofrequency cosmetic procedure that can smooth, contour, tighten, and renew collagen through each of the skin’s three layers: the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous fat layer. Thermage Total Tip is the newest, strongest, most comfortable option in the 4th generation machine.

Why Choose Dr. Marmur and Marmur Medical for Thermage Skin Tightening in NYC?

Dr. Marmur has recently added new techniques to customize your Thermage tightening and lift of your face, neck, and brow. She is a pioneer in combining Thermage with other lasers to give you a non-surgical “tummy tuck” or to refine a plastic surgery procedure, especially after pregnancy or dramatic weight loss.

How Does Thermage Work?

Thermage basically works by two mechanisms: deep heating that works on tightening the deep collagen in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue, while also stimulating new collagen production; and integrated cooling that keeps the surface of your skin safe during the procedure.

What Does Thermage Treat?

Thermage can treat sagging face skin and loose jowls. It can also redefine the jawline and can address cosmetic eye issues such as under-eye bags, hooding, and rough texture on the eyelids. On the body, Thermage can treat wrinkled, sagging, or bulging skin and the appearance of cellulite on the abdomen, arms, hands, thighs, and buttocks. We can utilize Thermage or other cosmetic procedures to help you achieve the youthful-looking results you desire.

What Can I Expect with My New York City Thermage Treatment?

Consultation

You will first need to meet with one of our team members for a personalized consultation. Here, you will discuss your concerns, goals, and what areas you are looking to target. We will assess whether you’re a suitable candidate for Thermage, and, if so, we will develop a customized treatment plan that addresses your specific needs.

Treatment

Typically, Thermage is a single treatment procedure that lasts 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area. Thermage’s handpiece uses a ThermaTip to deliver controlled cooling and dual heating to the skin. Most patients feel a brief heat sensation as the radiofrequency waves are applied to the skin, which is when the existing collagen is restored, and new collagen growth starts. Next, the ThermaTip produces a cooling effect with each pulse caused by Cryogen. In essence, Thermage is safe, convenient, and comfortable!

Recovery & Results

There is almost no downtime after Thermage, and the natural collagen rebuilding usually happens over two to six months—although visible results may be immediate. The effects last around five years, depending on your underlying collagen rebuilding process, skin condition, and aging process.

The downside of Thermage can vary from person to person. Some individuals may experience temporary redness, swelling, or discomfort after the treatment. The results of Thermage may also vary, and while many people see improvement in skin tightness and texture, the degree of improvement may not be as dramatic as with surgical procedures.

The duration of Thermage results can vary depending on individual factors, such as age, skin condition, and lifestyle. On average, the results of Thermage can last for one to two years. However, it’s important to note that the aging process continues, and maintenance treatments may be necessary to sustain the results.

Thermage and Ultherapy are both non-invasive treatments aiming to tighten and lift the skin. The choice between the two depends on individual needs and the recommendation of a qualified medical professional. Thermage uses radiofrequency energy, and Ultherapy utilizes focused ultrasound energy. The effectiveness of each treatment can vary depending on factors like the area being treated and the desired outcome.

There is no specific age to start Thermage as it depends on individual factors. Thermage can be beneficial for individuals experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity or those looking to improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It is generally recommended for individuals over 30, but suitability for treatment is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Thermage is generally suitable for individuals who are in their 30s and older with mild to moderate skin laxity or early signs of aging. However, it’s essential to consult with a qualified provider who can assess your specific concerns and determine if Thermage is appropriate for you.

The number of Thermage treatments can vary, depending on individual factors and desired outcomes. In many cases, a single treatment session may be sufficient to achieve noticeable results. However, some individuals may benefit from additional sessions several months apart to enhance and maintain their results.

Thermage has been clinically proven to provide improvements in skin tightening and texture. Many individuals have reported positive results and visible skin laxity and wrinkle improvement. However, the effectiveness of Thermage can vary from person to person, and it’s essential to have realistic expectations and consult a qualified provider to determine if Thermage is suitable for your specific concerns.
